New Music Director – Sam Evans

Highgate Choral Society is delighted to announce Sam Evans as its new Music Director, following an extensive and highly competitive search. He takes up the post in December, succeeding the much-loved Ronald Corp OBE, who led the choir for over forty years until his death earlier this year.

Ronald Corp (1951-2025)

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our Musical Director, Ronald Corp, on 7th May in Bath. Last autumn, Highgate Choral Society celebrated Ron’s 40th anniversary as Musical Director with a concert performed at Cadogan Hall. It featured the premiere of his composition Phoenix from the Ashes alongside the Faure Requiem, with soloists Roderick Williams and Lucy Crowe.

Ron was a highly talented musician – a composer, conductor and chorus master. But more than that, he was a great friend, motivated by his love of music. We miss him enormously.
