Supporting Highgate Choral Society

Highgate Choral Society is a large choir which seeks to mount ambitious programmes of music each season. We always engage professional musicians to support our endeavours and pride ourselves in seeking out new, emerging talent to feature as our vocal soloists.

With such aspirations and being almost entirely self-supporting through membership subscriptions and concert ticket sales, we really appreciate any contributions that we receive.

We have several avenues for you to help us.

Over the years we have attracted many supporters who have become Friends of the choir. Following a change in our constitution, we are currently reviewing the programme but if you think that you would like to support us by becoming a Friend then do please let us know.

Make a donation to HCS

We are a choir of local people performing wonderful music with professional musicians and soloists for the general public to enjoy. We also regularly sing with schools and youth choirs in our efforts to inspire young people to sing. We are keen to continue developing new audiences and to spread our love of choral music to more people across the generations.

If you don’t wish to become a Friend but would like to support the choir then you could consider making a donation to the choir so that we can continue with our work.

Commission music

We’ve established a designated commission fund which is used to create new works for us to sing. By commissioning choral music – paying a composer to write a new piece for a specific purpose or event – individuals can become involved and active participants in the creation of a legacy for future generations. Commissioning music can be an intensely personal choice and reasons have included wanting to mark an anniversary, the birth of a child, a memorial, or a gift to a loved one.

Donations to the commission fund can be a gift aid donation for tax purposes.

Leave a legacy

If you’ve enjoyed singing with us, or hearing us as a member of the audience, you’ll understand how powerful music can be, and how important it is to continue this great English tradition, inspiring future generations.

If you’d like to help HCS flourish, have you considered leaving a legacy? You’ll need to consult a solicitor, but it’s quite straightforward – and tax efficient! Download our Leaving a Legacy form, which also has advice and guidance.

If you would like to know about any of these ways to support HCS then please get in contact with us. Email our chair, Ashitey Ollennu at chair@hcschoir.com and he will be happy to help you
