HCS and the community

Singing around

HCS has been around North London for more than century and during that time we have connected with and supported many local causes.

Each year we hold a carol concert, after which there is always a retiring collection of two local charities and recipients of our generous supporters have included The Harington Scheme, Freedom from Torture, Camden Music Trust, Vocal Eyes, Brent Centre for Young People, Kidstime Foundation, and St Joseph’s Hospice, Hackney. We’ve also donated to Help Musicians UK.

At that same carol concert we always share our stage with the choir from St Michael’s primary school and we’ve been regular supporters of The Highgate Society’s Fair in The Square. In 2016, we sang at the 125th anniversary of the opening of Waterlow Park.

Many of our members also arrange for small groups to sing at local homes for the elderly at Christmas and at other times in the year – and have even been known to organise the odd flash mob!
